SEED’s Fiscal Sponsorship program allows community-based groups to seek grants, corporate sponsorships, and tax-deductible donations under SEED’s 501(c)3 nonprofit status. SEED offers Limited Fiscal Sponsorship, which is ideal for grassroots groups and emerging organizations in need of a way to receive grants and donations. SEED can provide expertise and guidance to help organizations identify funding opportunities, secure grants, and build long-term financial sustainability. Pre-Approved Grant Fiscal Sponsorship, for organizations who need a partner to secure a single large-scale grant, is available on a limited basis.
In the past decade, we have facilitated over $4.2 million in funding to South End arts and cultural organizations. Our clients include community stalwarts like NW Tap Connection and Detective Cookie’s Chess Club.
SEED accepts projects that are aligned with our mission and serve Southeast Seattle.
BENEFITS OF FISCAL SPONSORSHIP

Our networks connect and mobilize artists, cultural workers, and creative entrepreneurs to foster creative collaboration and advocate for neighborhood improvements.
SEED helped launch the City-designated Columbia Hillman Arts & Cultural District and is now the fiscal sponsor and co-chair of the District. In 2022-2023, we paid $55,000 to artists for arts revitalization grants, which funded eight new public artworks in Columbia City and Hillman City. We’ve also conducted a Community Needs Assessment and held an in-person Community Visioning Event to ascertain the needs of local creatives.
SEED also sits on the Board of the State-designated Rainier Valley Creative District. In 2023 we installed welcome murals in the five business districts from Columbia City to Rainier Beach and hosted the inaugural Artists Resource Fair.
We also work with the Columbia City Business Association and the Rainier Avenue Business Coalition. Want to learn more or collaborate? Contact artsinfo@seedseattle.org.
