Ashwin Warrior, SECRETARY/TREASURER

Program Analyst, HUD

Ashwin Warrior has dedicated his career to addressing our nation’s affordable housing crisis. He has worked on affordable housing issues at both the local and federal levels. He previously led communications for Community Roots Housing in Seattle. While there, he also helped coordinate the communications strategy for the Community Package Coalition, a grassroots effort that secured a historic investment in parks, transit, and affordable housing as part of a public benefits agreement from the expansion of the Washington State Convention Center. His federal experience includes legislative advocacy on behalf of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program and details to the White House Domestic Policy Council as well as to the Office of the Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). He currently works as a Program Analyst at HUD in the Office of Recapitalization, helping public housing authorities rehabilitate and redevelop their properties. Ashwin earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics from Seattle University and a Master’s degree in public affairs from Princeton University. He lives in Washington D.C. with his wife, Caitlin.
