The nation has a shortage of over 7 million affordable homes and is in danger of losing the affordable homes we do have. Nationally, over 350,000 affordable homes are at risk of being lost in the next four years, and over a dozen affordable apartment buildings have been sold in Seattle recently.

How can we preserve the housing we have, while creating more desperately needed homes? With public and private partners, SEED is investing over $14 million in preserving the existing affordable housing in Southeast Seattle.

Following a briefing on our programs, housing leader Margaret Salazer will speak about what’s being done now to preserve affordable homes.
