The SouthEast Seattle Arts Council (SESAC) is a multi-ethnic membership-based organization that promotes the arts and cultural vitality of Southeast Seattle. SESAC enriches our neighborhoods through arts networking and advocacy.
Members include artists, business people, cultural workers, community activists and others who come together to realize a common vision of strengthening the cultural traditions and artistic expressions of our many communities.
MISSION
Our mission is to create a diverse and dynamic arts and cultural environment that promotes neighborhood revitalization in Southeast Seattle.
Our Goals
- Advocate for and support arts and cultural activities
- Enhance cross-cultural relationships and build bridges among disparate Southeast Seattle communities
- Expand arts programming in our schools and communities
- Develop opportunities for all Southeast Seattle artists
- Make the arts an integral part of life in our neighborhoods
- Bring together artists, cultural workers, local residents and businesses to facilitate collaborative visions, while building a more unified voice in shaping Southeast Seattle’s future
Our Governance Structure
SESAC is led by a volunteer advisory board comprised of leading Southeast Seattle residents. All share a passion for the arts and believe in the power of community organizing.
