Guardian Spirits Using images of mythical animals, artists Alessandra Panieri and Dan Barsher, created metal sidewalk art and lightpole art which act as "guardian spirits" of the neighborhood. The images of loosely inspired dragons, phoenixes, crocodiles and fish, are powerful symbols of empowerment, rebirth, adaptability and survival. The sidewalk art is cut and galvanized industrial steel plate, which was set into colored concrete. The lightpole art is laser cut steel that has been powder coated and attached to brackets on the poles. |
