Glass Mosaics
10/1 & 10/8, 6:30-9:30p $45
This two-part class will introduce you to the technique of making a colorful glass mosaic mirror. Each student will create a project to take home.
Sultan Mohamed received a BFA from the UW and a teaching certificate from WWU. He currently teaches at Asa Mercer Middle School. His paintings have been exhibited at galleries and museums in Africa, Canada and the U.S.A.

Funky Fridge Magnets
Tuesday, 10/2, 6-9p $25
Add some color to your Frigidaire with some magnets made from recycled materials. Bring your old postcards, photographs, magazines and knick-knacks and walk away with an assortment of hand-made magnets that will make your friends’ fridges jealous!

Glass Etching
Tuesday, 10/9, 6-9p $35
Customize glasses, make gifts or add subtle elegance to everyday objects. Use design templates to get started or design and cut your own stencils. Learn to apply etching cream and etch on flat or curved surfaces. Assorted glassware will be available, or you can bring your own glass to etch.
Julia Field is a designer, artist, certified coach and trained SoulCollage facilitator. She has led workshops in creative expression, communication, and conflict resolution.

Mommy Makes Roses 101
Monday, 10/22, 6-9p $40
Learn how to make the gorgeous paper roses featured on the Martha Stewart show. This class focuses on mastering the form of the full bloom coffee filter rose, and painting techniques for the Princess Diana and Peace varieties, as well as making the leaves and petals to attach to the finished roses. Addl. $40 material fee.
Cassie Chappell is a self taught artist and illustrator. Mommy Makes Roses was born out of Cassie’s need to expose her children to the benefits of nurturing the creative self but grew into a business due to the encouragement of friends and family. She and her hand made roses were featured on Martha Stewart.

Getting Unstuck and Moving Forward in your Art and Life
Tuesday, 10/23, 7-9p $35
What do you do when you feel stuck or you want more from your art and your life? This workshop will give you an opportunity to deepen your experience of your art for yourself and to begin to create a more fulfilling life. Jacqui will offer creative suggestions for getting unstuck and leading a richer more productive life.
Jacqui Beck is a professional artist and art instructor. She has a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Victoria and is a professional life coach.

Creating an Artist Journal
10/28, 11/4 & 11/11, 2-5p $85
In this 3-part class, we will create a handmade soft-bound journal, by measuring, cutting, folding, sewing pages and attaching them to a cover. We will learn the history of the book and review book arts and creative writing resources in Seattle. The workshop will end with an introduction to “freewriting” and other exercises to get our pens moving!
Wendy Call is a writer-in-residence at the Richard Hugo House where she teaches creative writing classes.

Discovering Soul Collage
